GRADE OF CONCRETE AND CONCRETE MIX DESIGN PROPORTION AS PER IS CODE

The proportions of concrete components such as cement, sand, aggregates, and water are the concrete mix ratios. These mixing ratios are decided based on construction type and mixing designs.

This is required for concrete mix design and to know about the strength of concrete as per its design ratio.

As a civil engineer, it's very important to know about concrete mix design. here I have discussed concrete mix design as per IS code. All grades of concrete, characteristic strength of concrete at 28 days, and also concrete mix design proportion is given in the following table.

For such mixes, the manufacturer determines the output of the concrete but the proportions of the mix are determined by the concrete supplier, so that the minimum cement content can be set. This is the most logical approach to choosing proportions of blends of different products having more or less special characteristics in mind. Of concrete with undesirable output nominal or normal mixture should only be used when the cement strength does not exceed 30 N / mm2 (prescribed in the codes by amounts of dry ingredients per cubic meter and slump). No control tests are required to depend on ingredients' masses.
